EVC Biology Scholars is an NSF-funded scholarship program and learning community at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose, California. Prospective scholars apply in the fall to start the program with their cohort each spring.

Program Requirements:

Biology or General Studies (emphasis: natural science) major

Head Smart into the Sciences
Biology 14 is a new course designed to teach 1st and 2nd year science students about college and career pathways in Biology. It is taught by 3 fun Biology professors and our goal is to help students do their best in science courses.
Some of the topics we will cover are:
· Building community with students and faculty
· Successful study tips and the biology of learning
· Preparation for taking college science lab classes
· High paying science careers in the Bay Area
· Applying and transferring to universities with scholarships
· Field trip to a university and research biology laboratory
Biology majors who take this class are qualified to apply for the Biology Scholars Program and the prestigious $10,000 scholarship from the National Science Foundation.
